Collectively, we are working to align into our Grandness, allowing the energy of Source to easily flow through us, as us - unobstructed. Thus, our energy centers are trying to clear old patterns that kept us from feeling, acting and enjoying grace and ease in our lives. Specifically, the heart and throat are doing much work at this time to open and expand in freedom. As the throat chakra represents speaking our truth (among other things), shame, should's, loyalty and fear are primary reasons for causing us to suppress our need to express who we are and what we want. Parents tell us who we are and aren't, schools tell us what we should become, and those we spend most of our time with project all kinds of restrictions on us. In order to be kind, correct and comply, we stop speaking our truth. What can one do to open the throat chakra? A simple task is to sing! Whether you feel comfortable with your voice or not, you can find a variety of places and songs to sing. In the shower or car, while cleaning house, for a lullaby, or even at a karaoke bar, allowing yourself to sing with passion and volume can be incredibly healing for the suppressed chakra. Moreover, finding songs that "speak" your truth adds an extra boost of power. Whether you want to proclaim "One Love" along with Bob Marley, or let your voice climb the "Stairway to Heaven" with Led Zeppelin, singing can be a simple step toward self expression and throat chakra expansion.

I love this article as it was in my throat chakra where the melanoma struck. The symbology was not lost on me and I have learned to speak my truth. Just today I was listening to something that was talking about staying health by raising our vibrations and one of the easiest ways to do that is to sing. Helps that I live alone with a cat… ;) She doesn’t mind.

It's amazing how, if we are willing, we can let life's challenges show us where we need to heal... what aspect of our being is wishing to be fully, healthily expressed in wholeness. So glad you are speaking - and singing! - your truth!

I don't consider myself a "singer" by any means... as I barely have a sense of tone. But, when the feeling moves me, I have sung in sacred circles (recently) BY MYSELF, offering up my voice, a chant, and - of course - with the hope others will join me once they learn the words. ;-) Even though it is intimidating, it's also very freeing!
